Thanks, Pat, not only for this great piece but for all you continue to do, to give and to teach. In this moment of such divisiveness, you stand out as someone who remains open to be changed. You listen with head and heart, you give of yourself without expecting thanks in return and you are unafraid to speak truth to power — all of which are needed to break through the barriers of complacency, bureacracy and corruption.

There is something so powerful about seeing people for who they are so that you can help them become their best selves. It is an underrated character trait, an underrated skill. Please continue the work of expanding messages around the poor and how we create a more inclusive world of opportunity and dignity in the many sectors and places you know and undertand.
